about

The Crooked Bar was a tiny bar in the basement of Coconut Teaszer, a now defunct Sunset Strip rock club. During my last couple of years in Los Angeles, I played dozens of solo acoustic sets there. The sound man, Henrique, was a big supporter and one day invited me to come to the bar during off hours so that he could record some of my tunes. The result is this odd, audience-free "live" album. Included are a handful of songs that, for some reason or other, I stopped playing once I returned to San Francisco, and some interesting acoustic versions of songs from "Anxotica" and "Only I Can Save You."
